Many people go through life with chronic back or neck pain, stress, or fatigue, not realizing the way they walk, sit, stand, and move may be causing their problems The Alexander Technique teaches us to become aware of, and change, postural habits; alleviating us from unwanted pain and tension. As students perform common movements such as sitting and standing , the instructor uses subtle hands-on individual guidance, stimulating postural muscles to help students use their bodies with less strain in order to regain natural balance and fluidity. Because the Technique focuses on mind/body coordination, it is also helpful for those wishing to improve their performance; from tennis and golf to dancing, singing and acting. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat to class.
