Less Effort More Ease (Four Thursdays: May 9--30; 6:30--7:30 pm)
This four session class is for those who want to learn about themselves in order to better manage aspects of their daily living. The class is based on principles of the Alexander Technique, Body Mapping and the work of Carl Stough.
Each session in this class is one hour in length and focuses on a specific topic. We will cover a simple procedure to care for your back, strategies for sitting that work with the natural design of your body, techniques for finding freedom and comfort in every breath and tools for walking in a more mindful and easeful way. It is not required that students have had prior lessons in the Alexander Technique or an introductory class.
The class will be taught by Lauren Hill, AmSAT Certified teacher of the Alexander Technique. Some work will be done on the floor. Students need to bring an exercise mat to class.
Registration is through St. Paul Public Schools Community Education. To register online go to http://commed.spps.org. You will find the class listed under "Adult--Health/Safety". To register by phone call 651-744-5557.
