Alexander Technique for TEENS, Sundays 2/10, 2/17, 2/24, 4:30-5:30pm
TEENS: Do you want to learn to FLY?
COME LEARN HOW!
Okay...not really. But seriously, this 3-session (+ a 45-minute individual session) class for teens will expore how to stand taller, embody Superman or Woman (i.e. be confident) and feel as light as a feather. Many of the teens participating will be involved in music or the performing arts in general (although this is not a requirement to participate), so it will be a great opportunity to learn how to apply the Alexander Technique to facilitate easier, more effortless playing and expression.

What is the Alexander Technique?
We all have habits. Some are good, others are counter-productive. The Alexander Technique helps you notice patterns in your body and mind through experiential explorations of movement and breathing. We will also discuss posture and what it is—don’t worry, you won’t hear “Stand up straight!”
What does the class include? The class includes fun and interactive small group activities, games and discussions. Teens are also encouraged (but not required) to showcase a specific skill or talent they would like to improve, such as playing an instrument, dance, running, giving a speech, etc. These are great ways to learn to bring the Alexander Technique and all of its benefits into daily life!
